Merry Christmas~
sorry I'm a bit late....better late than never right? =P
spending these few days working at Raffles City Robinsons....not a very bad job, $5/hour on weekdays and $6/hour on weekends....yesterday was a full shift though and it was quite tiring actually but at least no really tough customers. Unless counting this, ah, obnoxious couple who came demanding a dining set. We understand Corelle 56 piece dining set is on promotion for 3 days. It was hugely popular. I never knew plates and spoons could disappear so quickly. This particular couple (Goberlin and I have resorted to calling them "kuso futali" which translates into "shitty two people" in Japanese) come just a few hours before the shop was closing. By then, any hugely popular product would most likely have been sold out, yes? Those boxes were flying off the shelves from noon. And kuso futali come along to demand for it at 8pm at night. "Promotion, and you are sold out already? I am a Robinsons card member! I am very upset! *points to random bit of advertisement paper* empty promises! I am very upset! Where is the stock? No stock! *again refers to his stupid advertisement paper* I am a Robinsons card member! I am very upset!"
Please. Imagine, we throw munny on the floor for card members starting noon. You come at 8pm. I suppose you can't really expect there to be anything left. Of course, we didn't say that, but you get the idea.

Went to cut my hair, asked the guy for a short trim. He must have been an army crewcut specialist before being a barber, or he mixed up short with the length of hair I really wanted. I'm not the si ai mian zi kind but my hair ended up being....really quite short indeed.

I'll be working at Raffles City Robinsons up till 7th Jan with days off on 31st Dec and 2nd and 3rd Jan before starting another job at the Airport on 9th Jan. Cal and Lollipop would want to come disturb mi. Bring it on.

I'm back from Japan! I think not many people knew I went anyway right? Haax....8 days was a long time....did alot of stuff, saw alot of stuff....very good trip! Although....haiz....I wanted to do something, but didn't get the chance to....no it's nothing to do with being in Japan....I think I may not ever get the chance again.

I can't remember the order of what I went to see with everyone else in the group but.....let me think, the bear park! The bear park was good....not many people here see a real bear before bah? When you look over the railings into the enclosure they actually wave at you to ask you for food....toss biscuits or apples to them, haax very cute! They look like big furry things you can run inside to hug. I really wanna post some pics up but have no idea how....when I figure out, you'll see them.

I'm really trying to remember....most of the holiday was spent thinking about doing what I couldn't do in the end....ah yes, crab sashimi! Anyone eaten raw crab before? Sound disgusting? It's NICE ok we paid 15k Yen for it....that's almost $200 FYI it's really sweet and when you dunk nit in wasabi it gets even better....and and oh yes we went up on some tower to see a really great night scene of hokkaido! Think it's the best night scene in the world, the city lights and all....erhx ok I know I'm not really doing a great account of my trip, my memory is very scattered when I'm thinking of something else.

Oh yes, we visited a beer factory and a milk factory. That was where I had my first full glass of beer and it isn't really fantastic tasting but they gave us watch a video clip that was quite cool. Oh just a random bit of stuff, I wonder why 60% of shop names in Japan are written in english when their national language is obviously japanese. Most of the japanese names were in katakana so I could read them....relied quite a bit on my fair grasp of the japanese language from my 3rd language lessons in sec school but think I got along fine. At least I didn't end up stammering like some madman.

And then we went to, AH, SOME OTHER PLACES before going back to tokyo to visit disneyland. Oh I forgot to mention that 60% of our hotels had hot springs pools. Met a funny japanese guy in one of the hotels who could see quite clearly it was one of my first times, ah, playing with hot water so he started talking to mi. By stringing some of his words together and a bit of guesswork I figured out he was telling mi to "just jump in because I'm a man". The thing is, jumping into a 42 dec'C pool isn't exactly the easiest thing to do when it's your first attempt but I managed it anyway. Talked awhile with him, nice guy, though I could understand only about half of what he was saying. By the way, to anime watchers, if you ever go to Japan please do not address yourself as "ore". It is extremely rude. The standard "watashi" will do. For mi, I use "boku", it's a little more casual and still fine. As I understand it, "ore" translates directly into"my honorable self".

If you ask mi, disneyland was fairly....unremarkable. I'm not trying to be critical but it's....just another theme park. What I really liked about it though, was the parades and the extent to which they decorated the park....you got to hand it to the japanese, they really take pride in what they do. The props and surroundings were simply beautiful. Only got to watch half the electric parade at night but it was really good. Madwoman (that's my sis) dragged mi around for ride after ride and some were actually quite good, some shooting alien thing and a mountain train among them and we managed to go for 11 before having to return. According to our guide, that's supposed to be outstanding. Gee, I'm good.

And the next day all too soon it was time to go. Oh, I suddenly remembered something, the food! See what happens when I'm constantly distracted by something. One thing the japanese really seem to like is shabu shabu, japanese steamboat. Trust mi all the soups seem to taste almost the same but they do taste good. Yakiniku was the best meal if you ask mi (that's japanese roasted meat), along with crab sashimi and sukiyaki (that's japanese meat steamboat). One thing I found strange though, was the lack of sushi. Would have been nice to try authentic japanese sushi.

And then, it was time to go....and I still couldn't do what I wanted. On the flight back to singapore I was thinking about it almost the whole time I was awake and though Pirates of the Carribean was cooking up a fine storm infront of mi I wasn't really watching. When we reached Changi Airport, everyone just...dispersed. No bye bye, not even waves. My dad seemed to want to get out of the airport as if it contained the Black Death and he hustled our whole family along....I couldn't even get a last look.

The trip was fun, but it ended a bit too....abruptly. I had a good time, no denying that but I can't help feeling a bit of regret. Gober-lin, good man, should know what I'm talking about all this time....haiz....but nevermind, there is always hope! Right, right? *pian zi ji*

Will post my pics when I figure out how....meanwhile you can check out my friendster page for some of them.

Had grad night last night... A memorable evening! Reached Marriot a little late for cocktail but still got to mill about and talk rubbish with goberlin and goodwind. I won't really blog about it here, suffice is to say it was a great night....food was good (appetiser was the best, to mi), emcee was CYRIL LIM (OK I know alot of people have no idea who I'm talking about) and just hanging around talking was cool enough. Arena was kinda....boring actually, if you ask mi....heavy metal and hard rock just isn't really my type of music. The only thing that was great there was the vodka, and the thrill of being in a place where a terrorist attack is likely to occur. But everyone had a good time, that's what counts =)
