Quote of the Year - HO rawkx!
Friday, December 31, 2004
This will be the last entry in this online journal for this year. What a year it's been!
Had HO practice yesterday, Soo Hwee gettin' in trouble with Mr Tang over the drums, but managed the rhythm in the end, hahax congrats. And Yu Lan just what is so funny? Thought you were quite good at cello? .....sorry about that, just jiayou for Orientation and SYF k? ^^ And Wenjun, designing HO Tee, dunno whether to laugh at you or be exasperated by you, but without you HO would be a rather duller place, so cheers man, keep the spirit up!
Still haven't finished Chinese holiday homework, only touched a bit of zhou ji, the book report I wait go school then copy others de :P then AMath I don't understand the stupid inverse matrices, nevermind the Math teacher should go through the topic, that's the teacher's job anyway right? Finished Chemistry within the first few hours of the holiday, if anything because the answers are at the back. Couldn't do Physics, just drew light rays all over the place.
Had a great Christmas, got EU DE COLOGNE as one of my presents, but should be appreciative right? Hahax...and the performance at Fengshan CC with HO, wasn't too bad, thought it was very soft but Mdm Wang said she could hear, and Jiemin your family seemed rather impressed by the way we flip the Octave harmonicas, yeah man Octave rawkx! Speaking of flipping the harmonicas, my thumb hurts like mad everytime I do it, so when playing Blue Tango must ren tong man! But still can play lah, I not that weak lol....oooh...pain pain....but still can type lah....only after I cut myself then I realize just how many things we use our thumbs for.
Next year sec 4 le, that's a very bad thing, not because I fear O' levels, but because it's my last year in this fantastic school, I made the right choice coming to AHS, and to Harmonica Orchestra, though it wasn't my first choice of CCA, I'm glad I came to it. =D

Oh well, can't think of anymore to say, so cheers everyone, look forward to a New Year ahead, and to my fellow sec 4s, luck and whatever God you believe in be wth you for the upcoming exams, study hard and reach for your goals! Auld Lang Syne!

Final Word --- Harmonica Orchestra rawkx the world round!

HO HO HO!
Saturday, December 25, 2004
Hello and a very Happy Christmas everyone! Seasons Greetings to ya all! May ya have a fantastic year 2005! YEAH MAN! WHOOHOO~~~! No, I am not crazy.
Went for holiday with parents at Sunway Lagoon just after I came back from Mount Kinabalu, and I honestly didn't wanna go, because that'd mean I'd miss my CCA and I wouldn't know the procedure for the concert on 26th, which is tomorrow, oh man I'm getting a little jumpy. But nevermind, we should do OK, after all, we are the Harmonica Orchestra. ^^
Can't think of much to Blog about, nothing big happened on the "return to Malaysia", Sunwau Lagoon hasn't got anything I find very fun apart from ice skating and archery. Had the usual Christmas Eve dinner at my aunt's place, the same huge turkey stuffed with raisins and honey and roast beef topped with pepper sauce and a big honey-glazed ham with salad all around it, with lobster bisque to finish off. Making you hungry? Honestly, I could hardly eat much. The food's a bit rich. Spent the rest of the time there practising and sparring with Chris and Jon, and Jon I do wish you'd come at least to a comparable par with us, your martial arts prowess is that of a rather offensive rugby player.
Oh well, gotta stop Bloggin' now and go to my aunt's place again for dinner, so see you all, and once more, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Mount Kinabalu trip
Monday, December 20, 2004
Hi everyone! Got back from Mount Kinabalu, said I'd Blog about it on my board so I'll start now, but it'll be long so bear with me k?
Met in school on 15th December, took a considrably long bus journey to Senai Airport in Johor Bahru. Was quite boring for me because I didn't have anyone to talk to, didn't know most people there, but got to the airport anyway, and our flight was delayed for an hour. Spent that hour wasting time, reading Mad magazine, and when we finally boarded the plane to Kota Kinabalu I realized there isn't anything to do on a budget airline like AirAisa, so got bored for another 2 hours plus till we reached the airport in Sabah, and took ANOTHER 2 hour long bus journey to the base camp at the mountain. Spent the night there, and the "chalet" wasn't as shabby as I expected.
Next morning we took a walk to the park HQ, and from there had another bus ride to the Timpohon Gate, which was the start point of our little extravaganza. First leg of the journey was step climbing, and though it wasn't difficult climbing steps upon steps and soaking in rain isn't very interesting and after awhile the jalan-jalan gets a bit monotonous. The scenery was great though, snapped a whole lotta cool pics as I clibed with my digicam. Anyway, soon found myself with Aloysius, Jonathan (sec 4'04), Weiquan (sec 4 '04), and Natalia. The five of us stuck together through thick and thin, through wind and rain and weariness, cheers you guys thanks for helping each other out, will remember our "crusade" for life.
Made it to the Laban Rata rest house with the team, spent the night there, and woke up at 2am in the morning to commence the final leg of the climb to the summit. It was really dark and I wouldn't have seen anything if not for my clip-on torch on my backpack. If anything it was even harder than the climb to Laban Rata, steeper steps and a new foe - rock faces. But after the world ended and was reborn I made it to the checkpoint at sayat-sayat, and took a short break before the final flight to the peak.

That final flight really tested my strength, stamina and faith, but I had this white rope to guide me and save my life, which it did more than once (I'm not joking), and my friends behind me. Gotta admit I wanted to give up a few times, but I promised myself I'd see the sunrise from the summit, and persverence paid off - I got to Low's Peak, 4095m above sea level, to see the day break over Borneo.
Coming down was quite easy, but I got seperated from my friends and teachers and I was a Lone Wolf for 2 hours plus, abseiling down rock faces and walking over barren mountain rock, before I returned to Laban Rata. Back at Laban Rata washed up, then was time to start the climb back down, with Natalia counting her steps (a third of the journey numbered over a thousand steps), and finally reached Timpohon Gate for our transfer back to the park HQ, and in turn, to Shangri-la hotel, Kota Kinabalu.
Too bad, I fell sick on the 18th, the worst day to fall sick because that's when we're free to explore the town, but I got better on the next day in time to buy souvenirs and walk around a bit. Don't think I wanna say anything about the return journey, nothing exhilirating, just a heap of boredom.
OK, that's about all of the nice parts of the trip, thanks for reading till here, won't add in any unimportant details for the sake of your eyes, suffice is to say I climbed the mountain, reached the summit, and made it back here to Blog. Will stop here now, nitez all.

PS: Fare thee well, Mount Kinabalu. You threw all you had at me, fatigue, force of gravity, freezing winds and rain, even despair. But, you did NOT defeat me.

HO Farewell
Monday, December 06, 2004
Had HO Farewell yesterday, came at 9.30am to prepare decorations, and I was actually late, and when I came in what did I see? Everyone slacking! Dotz... didn't start preparing for farewell until about 3pm after lunch, and by then it was very late already and everyone was rushing, that should teach us something about procrastination.
The Farewell itself started at about 5.40pm, and Sok Shin and Soo Hwee were so funny up on stage, especially their entry. Had speeches first, by teachers and Ee Leng, and then gave presents, then it was time for dinner! And omg it was SO dark everyone could hardly see the food, we put candles inside plastic cups to add some light and the candles kept going out because of the wind, tried again and again to light them and keep them "alive", got my fingers burned many times and my thumb was covered in wax, and in the end still didn't manage to light them up, but thanks Sok Shin and Soo Hwee for your concern and helping me take my food.
Then had the games, something to do with waterbombs, haha I didn't get wet even though Jiemin you threw one at me at POINT BLANK RANGE, and Geoffrey got a whole pail of water poured on him. Went to the concourse for "kou qin luan luan jiang", and I acted Geoffrey, so lame, "this is NOT an egg!". Had to slip on the stage, and then got everyone laughing when I acted Luyi, wow Wenjun you're certainly a good actor. Finale wasn't good however, played Eyes on me and the piano I was using was so out of tune, sorry HO sec 4s '04 I couldn't put in my best for the finale. Hope you all enjoyed the Energy song though.
Then after it was over everyone disappeared except me and Sok Shin and we were the only 2 left to carry 13 tables back from parade square to the canteen, and I was already very tired, and so was she, lucky Geoffrey and Kelvin turned up to help. Then waited for the caterer to come clear the catered stuff, but he didn't turn up and we ended up throwing away the leftover food. =(
By that time it was already like 11.30pm so took taxi home with Shihui and Jiemin and Yu Lan.
But all in all we had a good time right HO? Hahax, hope the sec 4s enjoyed themselves, and good luck to you all wherever you go! And AHS Harmonica Orchestra rocks forever! Stay enthu everyone!

PS: To any HO sec 4 '04 who finds her way here, sorry again for the poor piano performance I put up during the finale. Hope you all enjoyed the overall farewell, and thanks for all the guidance you gave to us the past years we have been in this CCA. May you have smiles and good luck wherever your calling in life, and remember AHS HO!

Parents overseas!
Friday, December 03, 2004
Dad and mum flew to Bali to enjoy life, sister at some camp, and me and my grandma at home. Yippee! I can do whatever I want till tomorrow evening, because that's when they're coming back, so I was online the past two nights till about 2-3am in the morning. Will come online through much of the night today again, it's a not-to-be-missed chance! Yet, it's not necessarily a very bad thing, because I have almost no money left and I have to eat most of my meals out, and with no parents at home I got no financial support. 0.o"
Keeping myself busy with Maple Story, now training a L14 Warrior, and his damage is so pathetic, my stats state that his max damage is 87 and sometimes he does FOUR. I really gotta start pumping strength now that my Powerstrike is good enough.
Having some problem at CCA, was sent to give an invitation to a sec 4 for the HO farewell, but somehow she had left Singapore, didn't anyone tell her about the farewell? It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing! She won't ever get another HO Farewell 2004! Then gotta buy plushies for the sec 4s in my section as a farewell gift, and that's a problem too with the measly amount of money I have left, but thanks members of Octave for helping.
OK, gotta go buy the plushies now or I'll be late for CCA, so...byebye!

PS: I collapsed all my threads into my archives so it's a bit more relaxing to the eye, because one whole sea of green words as you scroll down isn't too comfortable is it? So if you wanna see my past posts, please click on my archives.
