NYJC
Wednesday, March 29, 2006
OK, first things first, I'm down with bad flu....dunno how in space I got it, but ya, I'm on MC for today and tomorrow....actually only planned to use MC today, but probably will have to use for tomorrow also >.< ...high fever, cough non stop and sore throat.....blehx

Right, enough of that, let's think about Nanyang JC. You know, actually it's quite fun there, nice campus, and can see quite alot of AHS spirit in the people, although there is near to no AHS people there....but they all the cheering type and enthu type....orientation was real fun, got pizza nite and movie nite and disco nite....didn't go for disco nite though, I don't really like that kind of music, everyone jumping hysterically in the hall.....then mi, if I go into the middle and jump with them, I very sian, then if I don't jump, like very out. So I just left early. My ears were blasted out, yucks.

First few academic days in NY are alright, lectures are fine, tutors are fine, but I got a problem with my subject combi, cos you see, I regret choosing physics. I'm much more interested in bio, but mysteriously my physics marks are higher....I suppose you're right Qinqin I should do what I'm better at, but then I'll feel quite sian for 2 years....and my target courses in NTU give mi a choice between bio and physics (which I didn't know at first, that's why I chose physics). Don't think can change subject combi le anyway, so got to make do....for reader's interest, I'm aiming for either Bioengineering or Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering course in NTU (Nanyang Tech University).

OK, got to go eat breakfast and take medicine. Think my breakfast will consist of milo and oxygen. Hope everyone out there is having a nice time, bye~

HO CAMP
Saturday, March 18, 2006
HO camp was so rocks! Ya I know I wasn't in for half of it but it was so nice....wait, I start from what I know.

OK, thursday reached school at....forgot, just after Amanda's group came back from their Amazing Race....apparently they were first, so that makes mi second right? Why I no prize? So i walk around school, miss AHS, then went to play concourse piano (which is BADLY in need of tuning)....wait for all the other groups to return....and then Rebecca lost her bag.... =( ....hope there's nothing too valuable inside....then went down to 85 with wenjun to "book" tables.....and this big drinks stall guy come and say must buy drinks before can shift his table....so nevermind, we order 5 cups of sugarcane, and 21 cups of ice lemon tea. The guy was like, shock dao? Please man, what do you expect. Had dinner, then went on a night search for Rebecca's bag and another sec 1's who was also lost....but didn't find anything.... =( =( then went home, took a ride on Wei Ling's lorry.

Second day was funner, and someone could have told mi it was at Area E then I stop closer instead of going to Marine Cove at Area C?? But nevermind walking east coast is fun....heard you all walked from Area A, so I not so cham bah....finally reached HO's pit, then helped them set up fire, take water....water's heavy man, 1g/cm^3. But nevermind....we had fun starting fire....a bit of trubble but nevermind....and just when we get the fire going, half cooked some hot dogs....and the real owner of the pit comes along. Credit him, even when we took his pit, he was very nice, offered to help....but yeah, it's your pit, so we had to move over to our real location, BYOP1. Now this is amusing, because no one actually knew BYOP was bring your own pit. Admittedly while walking toward "our" pit E51, I saw a sign saying BYOP (Bring Your Own Pit), so I was a little mystified when HO was using the normal pits....but I didn't bring it up. OK, so we move over to our "pit", which consists of a flat stone with yellow lettering saying "BYOP 01" on it. Funky.

The fire building process, though, was amazingly faster than with the real pit....Sok Shin is a real pyro, can start good fire, only we didn't expect coconut husk to smoulder and not burn. So our pit is more like 3 stones with a wire mesh balanced on top, with the charcoal underneath....but at least it gives off heat right? So we continue the sausages, cook some chicken wings and sweet potato and corn....the sausages are nice, i had one, along with a marshmallow, my dinner. 50% of my job there was to lift the wire mesh and hold it up so Sok Shin and Qinqin and Jiemin and Yu Lan could blow at the charcoal. Hey it's a good attempt you know, this bbq, even the park rangers were impressed, they actually took a photo. Maybe next week we see the photo on newspaper, "the pioneers of east coast bring your own pit bbq rocks".

But sad, no time for sharing, everyone got to go home....so ya, got a whole tray of chicken left....ohwell. Went home with Rebecca Qinqin Yan Ru Siew Cheng Huimin Liwen and I can't remember who else....sorry, but it was nice time going home, yeah. Nagged at by mum for getting home late, dad bochup....nevermind, they insignificant, more important is HO camp was so great! Nice time back with HO....must organise another some time~

So TJ rejected my appeal. I don't understand. They will accept 12 pointers and 13 pointers but they won't accept a 9 pointer. Life can be mysterious.

For those who're still wondering, I'm in Nanyang JC....and it's NYJC, not NJC. It's a nice place actually, big compound, very nice atmosphere....but too far away for mi. Sent an appeal to Meridian yesterday....they haven't called mi. They said they'd call mi by friday if my appeal is successful. Tomorrow is friday, it's 4.15pm now and their office closes at 4.30pm. Still nothing. People were even telling mi I have a better chance with MJ than TJ. Tough luck. Studied hard for O'Levels and got an alright score, thought I'd have a nice chance of going TJ, and now I'm running around begging JCs to accept mi. Humorous huh?

Ok, don't know what else to say. Enjoy your camp sec threes, it's very fun, or at least mine was. Have fun and take care, and thanks also to all those who encouraged mi, especially Qin and Xuanting.
